The events below will take place in and around St Peter's Church, West Buckland, North Devon.

Thursday 9th September

•  5.30 p.m. Festival opens in St Peter's Church. Harvest Flower and Produce Festival.

•  7.00 to 9.30 p.m. The Gallery Preview. A chance to see the selected artists who have been invited to exhibit at this years festival. Currated by Peter Bright and the members of the Festival Committee.

Friday 10th September

•  10 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. The Gallery and Harvest Festival in St Peter's Church open to public.

•  2p.m. to 4.30p.m. Workshop. Patchwork - Foundation Piecing for Beginners. If you can trace a pattern and do backstitch you can learn foundation piecing with Lynne Vick. Village Hall. Tickets £5


•  7.30p.m. to 9.45p.m. Pianist Veronika Shoot currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music, London presents a special programme of classical Piano Music.

Saturday 11 th September

•  10 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. The Gallery and Harvest Festival open to public.

•  10 till 12 noon Festival Coffee Morning in St Peter's Church with musical entertainment by Philip Parker on the Grand Piano. Plus the best Harvest Produce of the year; many stalls plus Tombola and Raffle. Entry £1

•  11.00 a.m. a Shelter Box demonstration on the Chancery steps.

•  11.55 a.m. Grand Raffle draw.

•  1p.m. till 3p.m. Antiques Valuations. Professional valuations will be made by Mark Parkhouse on all pre 21st century items that are brought in. Cost for each valuation £4.

•  2 till 4 p.m. Workshop Exploring Hedgerows. A chance to explore the flora and fauna in our hedgerows with Cyril Cole. Learn about how hedges are maintained and how wildlife can be conserved. Tickets £5


Cabaret!

7.30 p.m. till 9.45 p.m. CABARET!
Tickets £12 each and Children under 14 - £5

A host of special entertainment acts with our MC for the evening Jonathan Ralph.

    Sunday 12th September

    •  11 a.m Harvest Service. A joint C of E and Methodist Holy Communion Service in St Peter's Church led by Rev. Alan Kettle.

    •  12 noon till 5.30pm The Gallery and Flower and Vegetable Festival in St Peter's Church - open to public.

    •  1.30p.m. Shelter Box demonstration in West Buckland Village Square. The demonstration will take approximately 20 minutes.


    •  2.00 p.m. till 4.30 p.m. Festival Walk, lead by Maureen and Jim Hawkins. Start and finish in West Buckland village square. Tickets £5 each.

    •  7.30 p.m. till 9.45 p.m. GORDON HUNT and The Panama Jazz Kings (making a return to the West Buckland Festival after four years). An Evening of Traditional Jazz with the renowned local Jazz Group. Tickets £12 each (Children under 14 - £5)

    •  9.45p.m Announcement of Successful Bidders for the Silent Auction.

     


    SILENT AUCTION LOTS
    • Lot 1. A Week for FOUR in a Cottage in Laugharne in South Wales - the village of Dylan Thomas.

    • Lot 2. A conducted tour for up to SIX people of Castle Hill with Lady Arran.

    • Lot 3. A tour for TWO at the RNLI Lifeboat Station at Appledore with a special tour of the new £2.7m Tamar Lifeboat.

    • Lot 4. A half day for FOUR with TV Chef and multi Rosette winner, Richard Hunt at the Grand Hotel Torquay - followed by lunch or dinner.

    • Lot 5. A unique black tie candlelit four course private dinner for FOUR with champagne, special wines and musical Entertainment

    • Lot 6. An afternoon and evening visit for TWO to the BBC Television Production Control Centre in Bristol. See a 'live' News programme being prepared and broadcast.

    West Buckland Festival - a festival of music, entertainment and leisure - held in a small village on the edge of Exmoor. This year's festival will feature more than a dozen events between 9th to the 12th September 2010.
